i found fitness : I was a mental health professional first. I grew tired of diagnosing and needing to "fix" people in a required number of sessions. Around the same time I was considering a career change, I broke my ankle. No longer able to run (which had been my own method of stress relief) I took up outdoor cycling as an alternative and was hooked. So inspired that I got Cycling, Personal Training and Health Coach Certifications and opened up my own small cycling and fitness studio. My biggest obstacle was 4 years ago when I was diagnosed with an extremely rare autoimmune disease called Churgg-Strauss Syndrome. Countless doctors visits and hospitalizations, congestive heart failure and an onslaught of medications and specialists were my reality for over 2 years. I was fearful I was done with fitness. Being my own medical advocate and lots of prayer were my only exercises for those years. My proudest moment was when I decided I was not giving in to this disease, thus my motto "Just Keep Moving." I am now symptom free. Echelon came into my life during this time and I am so grateful to be able to help others feel great inside AND out!
what i like most about fitness classes: I receive the satisfaction I got from helping others in the mental health world, AND we are getting healthier bodies at the same time!
the best worst song is: It's a tie between Gangnam Style and What Does The Fox Say?
